Disclaimer: None of these images are my own, but all graphics are made by me. All of this is hypothetical and coming from my chaotic brand obsessed brain. I am creating this campaign as if I was a part of the Glossier team and was tasked on the art direction for the brand’s holiday shoot, which I also made up.
Welcome back to Digital Branding! This episode we’re talking Glossier. I really wanted to do a holiday collection next, especially for a beauty brand. My mind immediately went to Glossier (I mean who could forget the hot cocoa balm dot com.) While Glossier usually kills it with their holiday drops, I really wanted to create a campaign that felt fresh and different for them, something more elevated, while still being on brand. Here’s what I came up with….
the inspo:
Like I said Glossier is always killing it with their holiday drops so I wanted to use those as inspiration and build my campaign around what they already have going on this season.

After some research, it seems to me like this chrome iteration of their iconic makeup bag is the star of the show when it comes to the brands Holiday Kits this year. I personally love it. It’s giving fun, edgy, cool and really inspired me for the vibe of my campaign. I also noticed they had a roller ball kit of their three scents and potentially an eyelash curler coming soon. Ultimately, I wanted to channel the fun of all these scents, tools, and textures into my campaign.
the shoot:
The main thing I wanted to create in my campaign was a strong editorial shoot. I feel like we don’t see editorial shoots from beauty brands very often, so a cool conceptual shoot from Glossier could really set them apart during the holidays!
Immediately I knew the campaign had to be some kind of winter theme. At first I was thinking about skiers. However, it has just been done too many times before…and done really well. Note this iconic skims holiday campaign
Then the imagery of furs, balaclavas and knits came to my mind. I thought this was a concept that could be really cool, and allow the brand to show off a bunch of different personalities and looks. I think it would be great if the furs & knits were a mix of whites, reds, silver, and ofc Glossier pink. See moodboards here
In terms of what makeup looks I would want to see in the campaign. I really enjoy all of these bold, unique, yet simple looks that really showcase the skin. Again, I think an array of different fun looks could be a statement and give a lot of personality to the brand. see here
seasonal product launch:
in terms of more seasonal product launches I would love to see:
a peppermint balm dot com
a red, silver, or fur Glossier utility bag
a burgundy lip kit (limited edition liner & gloss)
gingerbread & nutmeg candle
more concept images:
lastly, im leaving you with some more concept images that inspired me. This was another short one. Im still working on that long one I promised :) hint: it’s for another beauty brand.
alright I’ll stop before you get sick of scrolling. See you when we reimagine the next brand!
